Distance Learning Programs in Negotiation Skills ranging
from Introductory Level to Advanced Training and Coaching

If you can't make it to one of our regularly scheduled "Skilled Negotiation™ Workshops", don't despair.

Your location and mobility are no longer barriers to your development!

We offer a distance learning program comprised of readings and e-mail assignments. We customize the program for each client, and wrap the assignments around a real-life negotiation case of your choice.

Here's an actual example of a program we designed for a particular client.

Skilled Negotiation™ -

A Distance Learning Program
Custom-Designed for XXXX XXXX

1. Introduction

This Program Outline has been developed in response to a request from XXXX XXXX for a continuing developmental program following his recent participation in the three-day "Skilled Negotiation™ Workshop." The program focuses on his need to broaden and deepen his knowledge, skills, self-awareness, and personal self-management capabilities in the negotiation of business agreements.

2. The Program

Program Features:
  • Series of six modules.
  • Each module based on a Stage of "The P-R-E-P-A-R-E to Negotiate Process Model".
  • We send you a package of resource materials (books, articles, instruments, outline of assignments) when you agree to the terms below.
  • You select a "real life" negotiation to work through as the program progresses.

Each module consists of a "bundle" of activities, including:

a) Readings:

Starts with a review of the relevant sub-section in the "Skilled Negotiation™ Participant's Manual."

Continues with a reading or set of readings chosen to complement or expand the Manual material.

b) Assignment:

Complete and submit written assignment via e-mail.
[This will be different for each module.]

Examples:

For "Module 1 - Plan" the written assignment will be completing and submitting a set of the planning phase worksheets for your "real life" negotiation. These will be critiqued and returned to you with suggestions.

For "Module 2 - Respect" the focus will be on heightening self-awareness about your negotiating (and, more broadly, your interpersonal communication) style. The written assignment will involve completing a negotiation style instrument, and having several of your colleagues complete the instrument on you. I will score the instruments and provide you with an interpretation of the scoring with suggestions re. modifying your negotiation behavior where appropriate.

c) Feedback, Coaching:

Regular weekly feedback and coaching from me by e-mail and/or phone.

N.B. If the "real life" negotiation you choose requires a higher level of confidentiality/security than e-mailing can guarantee, we will exchange written assignments and feedback via fax.

Duration:

Six to twelve weeks, depending on how quickly you move through the modules.

Start date:

To be determined, depending on the needs of the client.

Completion date:

Usually within three to four months, again depending on the needs of the client.

Completion of a Module every one to three weeks on average.

3. Your Investment

E-mail or call us for a quotation.

Payment Schedule:

50% at mid-point.

4. Agreement

If you decide to proceed with the program, please print this agreement, sign below, and fax it back to me at 604-436-5070. I will then, in turn, sign a copy and fax it back to you.

I agree to the terms set out above.
